Steven Ripp, Ph.D.
Research Professor and Assistant Director
Dr. Ripp’s research interests focus on optical-based bioreporters and biosensor integrations for biomedical imaging and chem/bio environmental surveillance. He merges his expertise in microbiology, molecular genetics, synthetic biology, and bioengineering to advance the field of in vitro and in vivo bioluminescent imaging to create new toolsets for drug discovery, toxicology screening, and preclinical imaging. His research pursuits include lab-on-chip devices, biomicroelectronic interfaces, wearable sensors, and implantable sensors. Dr. Ripp earned his B.S. in Bacteriology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at Oklahoma State University.
