Ancient bdelloid rotifer revived from 24,000-year old Arctic permafrost

UT-CEB scientist Dr. Tatiana Vishnivetskaya, along with colleagues from Russia, the Czech Republic, and Germany, demonstrate the preservation and revival of a microscopic multicellular bdelloid rotifer in a 24,000-year old permafrost core from northeastern Siberia.
